Howdens Joinery is seeking a Depot Manager to lead one of its 900+ trade depots across the UK and Europe. As a manager-driven business, Howdens provides its Depot Managers with a high level of autonomy in decision-making and leadership. The Depot Manager will be responsible for P&L management, sales growth, and team leadership, ensuring strong relationships with local trade professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Depot & Sales Management:

  • Take full ownership of the depot's P&L, ensuring profitability and financial success.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local trade professionals.
  • Identify opportunities to grow customer accounts and market presence.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Motivate and inspire employees to achieve both individual and team sales targets.
  • Conduct performance reviews and coaching to develop team members.
  • Drive a customer-first culture, ensuring excellent service and client satisfaction.

Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure efficient stock management and depot operations.
  • Implement best practices in health & safety and compliance.
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making to enhance depot performance.
  • Work collaboratively with support teams for guidance and training.
