Database Engineer

Description:

We're looking for a skilled Database Engineer to join our team. You'll be responsible for managing, securing, designing, and optimizing our core MySQL database within one of our critical products. You'll work with a combination of onshore and offshore teams on both change and production initiatives. You'll also help other product teams by consulting on data strategy, schema design, complex queries, and BI/MI requests from the business. If you have experience in BI/MI report design using PowerBI and Quicksight, that would be great too. You must have evidential experience in ISO27001 and be able to successfully complete UK Security Clearance.

The role

• Accountability for Product Database Security, Architecture and Design
• Administration and Accountability for Product Database Backup and Recovery
• Database Creation, Design and Analysis
• Creation of complex Queries to support Product requirements as well as Data Extraction/Transformation/Load and Replication
• Support the creation of PowerBI/Quicksight BI/MI reports
• Support Agile/DevOps practices and participate in various Agile/DevOps ceremonies (Release Planning, Backlog Refinement, Retrospective, Sprint Review, Daily Stand-up)

• A sound approach to problproblem-solvingevidence of systems thinking with good communication and diplomacy skills to guide and persuade at all levels to help others across a variety of cultures to move towards common goals and vision
• A team player and able to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels and the ability to critically question to help the team foresee the future problems
• Experience of working with the ISO27001 standard
• Experience of Database Administration / Design / Analysis
• MySQL Certification - Administration and Developer
• Experience of Data Migration/ETL
• It is a requirement that the successful candidate obtains UK Security Clearance
