Data Technician Apprentice

Janus Henderson Investors is offering an 18-month Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship, providing first-hand experience in data management within the asset management industry. This program includes on-the-job learning, professional development, and networking opportunities, helping apprentices build a strong foundation for a career in data analytics and technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the data management team and learn about financial data sets.

• Understand and apply the Agile development process.

• Gain exposure to cloud and on-premise database technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, and SQL Server.

• Learn to navigate databases, identify data objects, and perform SQL-based investigations.

• Explore data science tools like Python and scheduling software.

• Work with Jira and source code repositories to manage development tasks.

• Communicate insights with end users using data-driven explanations.

Required Skills:

• A-level Mathematics or equivalent qualification.

• Strong command of English (written and verbal).

• Interest in data investigation and problem-solving.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

• Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

• Comfortable communicating with users and cross-functional teams.

• Basic understanding of computer programming.

• Exposure to database technologies and SQL.

• Fundamental knowledge of Python programming.
