Description:
This Founders Associate role is specifically for students pursuing their master’s degree, or recent graduates looking for an opportunity to work alongside a founder on a wide-ranging of subjects.
Scope:
- Founder’s right arm
- Collect and preprocess geospatial and satellite imagery data.
- Integrate diverse data sources such as weather data, soil characteristics, and historical land use patterns to enrich analysis.
- Develop and validate predictive models for identifying and verifying compliance with EUDR and agroforestry practices.
- Use machine learning algorithms to analyze satellite images and detect significant changes or anomalies in land use.
- Implement algorithms that process and analyze satellite data to derive insights related to farm conditions, crop health, and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Optimize data processing workflows to improve the efficiency and accuracy of satellite data analysis.
- Collaborate with software developers and GIS specialists to integrate data science models into broader verification systems.
- Prepare reports and visualizations to demonstrate findings and progress to stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
- Conduct tests to validate the accuracy and reliability of the satellite data and the models developed.
- Work on refining models based on feedback and test results to enhance prediction accuracy and reliability.
- Participate in workshops, seminars, and other educational opportunities to stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data science and satellite imagery analysis.
- Engage in peer learning with other team members to share knowledge and improve skills.

- Pursuing a degree at a Tier 1 University in Data Science, Computer Science, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field with a strong quantitative focus.
- Experience with Python, R, or another data analysis software.
- Knowledge of machine learning libraries and frameworks.
- Familiarity with satellite imagery processing tools like GDAL, QGIS, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills for presenting data-driven insights.
- A genuine passion for sustainability, agriculture, and technology with a keen interest in startup environments and impact ventures
- Ready to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Can learn quickly, and turn that learning into action
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English. French is a bonus.
