Description:

HSBC is seeking a Data Engineer to join its UK Credit Risk Management team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using tools like Spark, Airflow, Control-M, SAS, or R.
  • Develop and execute complex SQL queries to extract and analyze data from large databases.
  • Work with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud (preferred), AWS, or Azure for data management and orchestration.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through quality checks and validation.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to align data solutions with organizational goals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields (preferred but not essential with relevant experience).
  • 1-2 years of experience in data engineering or analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and cloud data solutions.
  • Familiarity with data processing tools such as Spark and Hadoop.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or SAS for data tasks; knowledge of Git is a plus.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
