Data Architect

 

Description:

The National Lottery Community Fund is looking for a Data Architect to drive its impact-focused data strategy. As part of the Evidence and Impact team, you will be responsible for enhancing data governance, developing a target data architecture, and ensuring seamless data flows across systems. Working closely with the Head of BI, Technology, and Service Design teams, you will improve data management processes to support business intelligence and insight generation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a data expert with strong analytical, technical, and communication skills to make a difference in community-focused funding initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance data governance practices, ensuring data quality, security, and privacy for analytics and reporting
  • Develop and maintain a target data architecture to improve data usage and business intelligence
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize data flows between systems
  • Support implementation of analytical data models to enable effective insight generation
  • Ensure consistency in data processes and improve data management practices across the organization

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of data governance (data quality, security, and privacy)
  • Experience in database and analytics technologies (SQL, DAX, Power BI)
  • Understanding of data architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF)
  • Experience in designing data models for analytics
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture
  • Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) in data analytics and architecture

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of AI in data services
  • Degree or equivalent experience in data analytics, computer science, or related disciplines

Location & Hybrid Working:

This role can be based in any of The National Lottery Community Fund’s UK offices (Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Newcastle, Newtown) with hybrid working flexibility. Occasional travel for team meetings and events will be required.
