Cto Cloud Portfolio Manager

 

Description:


The role holder will report to the Head of Strategy and Transformation for Global Cloud Services and work closely with CTO Cloud Services leads, CTO Transformation and Change Leads and wider teams/stakeholders to deliver common objectives.

The primary goal is to support the Head of Strategy and Transformation for CTO Cloud Services with:
 

  • The overall delivery of strategic programme outcomes, supporting business vision and purpose through change and run the bank initiatives.
  • Ensuring the Cloud Services portfolio and outcomes are aligned to the CTO and organisational strategic requirements and priorities including technology architecture roadmaps, vendor strategies and evergreening strategy.
  • Development and ownership of business cases and benefit validation to support transformation, strategy and fast paced business responses to emerging threats and opportunities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with strong experience of negotiating, documenting and presenting recommendations to deliver shared outcomes.
  • Regular engagement and reporting to senior stakeholders across Cloud Services, CTO and HSBC Technology
  • Supporting management of organisational risks across Cloud Services by ensuring project and portfolio risks, issues and dependencies are managed effectively and senior stakeholders are informed / updated where appropriate.
  • Ensuring that Cloud Services can meet committed outcomes by working with programme teams to navigate challenges and escalate effectively where needed.
  • Ownership and delivery of planning cycles across Cloud Services portfolios to ensure financial investment decisions supports Cloud Services’ long term strategy, risk appetite and aligns to HSBC strategy and future business / customer needs.
  • Ensuring Global Cloud Services programmes are well interlocked with other programmes within CTO and HSBC Technology and dependencies are understood and managed.
     

Requirements
 

  • Very good understanding of Programme and Project management frameworks, methodologies, and best practice techniques
  • Extensive knowledge around cloud technology covering Azure/AWS/Goole, understanding concepts and regulation/risk
  • Excellent stakeholder management, presentation, and communication skills – Proven experience of exposure to Senior stakeholders is critical.
  • Strong knowledge of technology infrastructure products and platforms and fintech.
  • Strong understanding and experience of financial planning processes including forecasting, management of variances and common project accounting principles (e.g. cash, directs and P&L accounting)
  • Critical thinking and pro-active problem-solving skills, able to work to under pressure to challenging timescales and deliver at pace.
  • Very good collaboration skills and ability to engage and bring different teams together.
  • Very good time management skills and ability to work under challenging timescales to deliver at pace.
  • Experience of continuous improvement.
