Reporting to the Global Creative Director, the Creative Technologist will help us create unforgettable experiences at our Merlin Brand attractions which include theme parks around the world like Alton Towers and LEGOLAND as well as Midway attractions like Madam Tussauds, The London Eye and The Dungeons. Together with our creative team you’ll play a key role in enhancing digital experiences and driving the intersection of physical and digital within our attractions. The end result? Spectacular attractions that leave visitors in awe.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion and excitement for creativity and the experiential industry. You are able to clearly explain technical solutions to stakeholders across the business and inspire the team with the art of the possible. This is a non-managerial role with a focus on hands-on technical expertise, a creative mind, and the ability to dream big.
Key Responsibilities...
- Collaborate with the Creative team to identify opportunities to enhance attractions with rich digital experiences, seamlessly blending physical and digital elements.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies to create immersive experiences for our guests.
- Prototype and develop interactive experiences using technologies such as AR/VR, AI, interactive installations, projection mapping, or other cutting-edge tools.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, ensuring the feasibility and scalability of creative concepts.
- Cultivate a network of vendors and maintain strong relationships to support the execution of creative projects.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in creative technology, AI tools, and digital trends, bringing fresh ideas and insights to the team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements, project timelines, and deliverables, ensuring successful execution.
- Contribute to post-project evaluations and provide recommendations for future improvements and innovations.
About You...
- Proven experience as a Creative Technologist, preferably within a creative agency or organization.
- Strong understanding of the intersection of technology, creativity, and delivering rich digital experiences.
- Proficiency in prototyping and development using technologies such as AR/VR, AI, interactive installations, projection mapping, or other immersive technologies.
- Knowledge of AI tools and their application to creative projects.
- Ability to bridge the gap between creative concepts and technical execution, bringing imaginative ideas to life.
- Possess a creative and innovative mindset, with the ability to dream big and push the boundaries of what's possible.
- Ability to work as part of a creative team with collaborative approach to brainstorming and the creative process.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining a network of trusted vendors and industry connections.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
