We're seeking a highly talented Creative Strategist/Planner to help us create unforgettable experiences at our Merlin Brand attractions which include theme parks around the world like Alton Towers and Legoland as well as Midway attractions like Madam Tussauds, The London Eye and The Dungeons. Together with our creative team, you'll be responsible for defining the proposition behind some of our top attractions and using data, research and cultural analysis to help develop territories for our creative thinking and storytelling. The end result? Spectacular attractions that leave visitors in awe.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion and excitement for creativity and the experiential industry. You are a creative and strategic thinker, intensely curious, and focused on the end-to-end customer journey. You are a clear communicator who loves presenting, storytelling and selling in ideas to stakeholders across the business.
About The Role...
- Brief Interpretation: work closely with our brand teams to understand the business strategy and translate that into a clear creative brief
- Research and Data Analysis: perform research and interpret available data, turning disparate information into usable insights for the creative team.
- Cultural Analysis: Understand the cultural context and market trends that impact and inform creative thinking
- Customer Focused: Be the voice of the customer, ensuring a sympathetic guest-focused approach
- Storytelling: Ensure that our creative always has great storytelling at its heart
- Inspiration: Drive creativity and lateral thinking. Be the go-to person for inspiration. Nurture fresh thinking.
- Leadership: Guide, challenge and steer creative development to produce experiences and attractions which are on brief
- Presentation: Present the creative strategy across the business to gain buy-in with key stakeholders
- KPIs: Ensure realistic KPI's are included in briefs and reviewed post-project
About You...
- Experienced working as a creative strategist, ideally within a creative agency.
- Customer-focussed, with the ability to translate customer requirements into inspiring briefings.
- A creative and strategic thinker with the ability to take a complex concept and present it in a clear, logical manner
- A brand champion, with a good understanding of how brand values can be translated into creative concepts.
- Ability to lead creative briefings and ideation sessions, pushing the team to deliver exceptional creative output.
- High-level creative and strategic problem solver who inspires confidence across various stakeholder groups
- Excellent communication and presentation skills. Savvy with words, images, graphs and charts to create a polished presentation with a compelling storytelling flow that hooks listeners and brings the strategy to life.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work at a fast pace on multiple competing projects.
- Experience in travel, tourism or the entertainment industry across APAC or the US would be an advantage.
