Cost Accountant

 

Description:

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Cost Accountant located in Westmorland Business Park, Kendal.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Cost Accountant role will be part of an excellent team, whose members are strong communicators, ambitious & innovative.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Managing project data set-up to ensure accurate reporting and system integrity

  • Responsible for ensuring all material, labour and expense costs are accurately reflected in project costing system

  • Tracking progress of project activities to enable appropriate project financial accounting for revenue recognition, cost recognition and billing

  • Preparing monthly financial information and analysis for projects to explain actual financial performance against budget

  • Report on product and customer performance to management

  • Investigate variances and report on variances to management

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Working to deadlines with a good attention to detail

  • Good communication and organisational skills are essential

  • Ability to manage day to day work whilst also being part of a team.

  • Fantastic written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience of accounts systems and excel

  • Confident under pressure and able to handle multifaceted objectives

  • Excellent work ethic with confidentiality at the core

  • Economic background is a plus.
