As Continuous Improvement Manager, you will strive to make lasting, useful changes in the Offshore Asset Management team. Aiming to help the team reach their main goals and do their best work.
You will deliver important projects to improve things and teach others how to use tools for making these improvements. You'll guide them so they can make their own processes better.
This job helps to support and build a culture where everyone seeks to do better. The team learns to keep improving how we manage offshore assets. This results in getting the most value from our investments over time.
Main Accountabilities May Include
- Promoting and upholding Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) standards to ensure safety is a priority. Overseeing projects following SHE guidelines, manage risks, and keep the Innovation & Integrity team safe.
- Leading a diverse team to achieve project objectives, boosting engagement and morale to enhance SSE's reputation as an employer. Fostering a culture of operational excellence and designate 'process improvement experts' to drive initiatives that minimize waste and variability.
- Implementing strategies to improve business operations using LEAN Sigma, focusing on waste elimination and continuous enhancement. Ensuring Offshore Asset Management complies with clear regulations.
- Organising 'Are we ready' and 'Kick Off' meetings for teams, working with partners to evaluate processes and collect feedback.
- Running 'lessons learned' workshops to encourage growth and risk management. Developing systems to document and share best practices.
- Supporting managed improvement projects ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Evaluating project risks, provide timely escalations, and apply lessons from past projects to future ones.
- Collaborating with the Project Management Office (PMO) to track project progress, maintain governance, controls, and reporting, ensuring milestones are met, variances addressed, and outcomes visible.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Experience in engineering environments such as: wind-power, power generation, oil and gas, aerospace, automotive is essential whilst experience in an offshore environment would be advantageous.
- Accreditation in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent and being a Certified Project Manager is preferable.
- Experience in creating and rolling out continuous improvement processes and tools with experience in process management based on ISO 9001 methodology preferred.
- Ability to agree and drive the collaborative development of a business unit 'continuous improvement culture' development plan and then deploy the plan across the Offshore Asset Management business unit.
- Demonstrable experience of designing and implementing improvement initiatives that deliver tangible and sustainable commercial benefit.
- An effective coach, mentor and trainer in continuous improvement tools.
