Content Marketing Officer

 

Description:

The Content Marketing Officer produces inspiring and engaging marketing content to promote and position Imperial College Business School’s degree programmes competitively amongst the world’s top business students. The role includes executing the creation of marketing content and communications strategies, that will attract interest, enquiries and applications from high calibre potential students from across the world.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Implement the content marketing strategy for programmes, that supports the wider Programmes Marketing and Recruitment strategy for the Business School
  • Plan, coordinate and produce content to market our programmes across various mediums like blogs and video, and channels including web, email, and social.
  • Write excellent copy, upholding the brand voice, across various content forms including for blogs, brochures and website, as well as improving existing programmes copy.
  • Distribute content via key marketing channels.
  • Help manage the Student Content Creator scheme together with the second Content Marketing Officer
  • Analyse, evaluate and report on individual content marketing activity, utilising marketing analytics
  • Coordinate with external suppliers to implement small and large-scale content-led projects
  • Coordinate directly with our PR agency to fulfil requests and proactively pitch story ideas to achieve press coverage
  • Integrate content into key marketing touchpoints and e activities across all teams involved in the student recruitment journey.
  • Produce content following the School’s style guide to produce on-brand content across all mediums.
  • Oversee the production of videos, podcasts and photography from the creative briefing process to finish. Support with video, photo and podcast editing.
  • Work with a network of contacts in the School and College to source and share programme-related content.
  • Utilise SEO best practice to and produce and optimise existing content that supports the team’s SEO strategy
  • Support the production of student-generated content for use on the website and in marketing campaigns.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider marketing team in the production of marketing materials such as the digital brochure, including copywriting and inclusion of quality content

 

Essential requirements

  • A degree, or equivalent, ideally in Business, Marketing, English, Journalism, Communications or Media Production, or equivalent experience in a similar or related role(s)
  • Experience delivering and evaluating content-led digital marketing and communications activities
  • Experience of using web and social media management, monitoring and marketing analytics tools/software
  • Experience working within a set of brand messages and identity guidelines
  • Experience using a CMS (Drupal preferred)
  • Knowledge and passion for social media channels (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn and TikTok)
  • Highly skilled at writing across multiple audiences and channels (including website, email and social channels) and the ability to adhere to style and tone of voice guidelines
  • Excellent written English, as well as ability to write engaging copy and first-rate proofreading and editing skill with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to build relationships with colleagues of all levels
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills and the ability to manage concurrent deadlines and competing priorities, and complete projects on time
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with the can-do approach needed to identify and produce a story
  • Able to analyse and interpret data to inform and improve future marketing activity
  • Strong IT skills: MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop and InDesign)
