Reporting to the Lead of Creative Copy & Content, the Content Marketing Executive is a key role in the Marketing team, working closely with colleagues across the business, within clearly defined brand guidelines, and in conjunction with other members of the acquisition and product teams.
You will have the ability to think conceptually about how to sell Newmarket Holidays’ award-winning range of holidays and cruises in an imaginative, fresh, attention-grabbing style. You will be communicating to new and existing customers, through a range of channels, from press advertising to brochures, direct mail pieces to emails, advertorials to press releases, and, alongside our ecommerce team, for the company’s website. As Content Marketing Executive, you will be providing words that help accelerate the commercial impact of communications in the relevant channel.
You will also champion the brand’s key messages and ensure consistency of the written word and tone of voice across the company.
Day to day
- With a commercially astute and creative focus, provide copy and content that accelerate the path to purchase impact upon the customer in print, online and social environments.
- Create engaging, compelling, stand-out sales messaging for new and existing tours and cruises, working in association with Product Managers and their briefs.
- Provide copy as required by other members of the Marketing team, working to their brief.
- Work with eCommerce and Product teams to make sure marketing campaigns, content and product connect seamlessly.
- Support the wider acquisition teams with their work, particularly with Social and PR and with differentiated copy to meet B2B and B2C needs.
- Work within pre-determined schedules to deliver all copy as required on time.
- Maintain, evolve, and share our brand guidelines, being a brand guardian for the written word.
- Clearly execute the brand voice across all written media.
- Ensure the tone, quality, and consistency of all copy across the Company.
- Ensure all copy and content contributors are working to the highest standards and producing engaging, grammatically correct prose.
- Edit, sub-edit and proofread content created by other members of the team.
- Support with drafting and signing off press releases for B2B/B2C distribution.
- Manage projects with many stakeholders, formulate the right brief and ensure that what's produced matches expectations ensuring communication at all stages of the project.
- Identify customers’ needs and any new opportunities in content; recommend changes and learn what does and doesn’t resonate in a continuous cycle of improving copy and content.
- Propose new content ideas to support lead generation activity and Company business objectives.
- Continually review the content portfolio, making changes as appropriate.

- Commercially and strategically astute.
- A desire to positively impact the sales performance of the organisation through words.
- A demonstrable flair and command of the English language.
- Proven experience creating engaging copy and content of varied formats with a portfolio to share.
- Excellent writing, editing and proof-reading skills in English.
- Thorough understanding of tone of voice and experience in shaping and maintaining a brand voice.
- Skilled in executing briefs with varying levels of scope and detail.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to grasp business objectives and identifying what success looks like.
- Understand and contextualise a brand and what that means for copy and content.
- Able to work to and meet varying degrees of deadlines from short, tight deadlines to long running projects.
- Adept at working on concurrent projects.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with a range of people.
- IT literate including MS Office.
- Working knowledge of SEO would be an added benefit but not essential.
