We are now looking to appoint an outstanding Content Editor to lead a team of colleagues based in the North West and in our other districts, developing content from around Northern Ireland.

We are looking for someone who can react fast when necessary but who is also highly organised and full of initiative.

To be considered, you will need excellent news judgement and the ability to build a great contacts book for everything from breaking stories to exclusives. You will be skilled at deploying colleagues in the most effective way, giving them the necessary direction and support.

The successful candidate will also have a proven ability to oversee the production of the most engaging visual narratives with the scripting to match. We want to ensure our programmes contain strong images, incisive ‘writing to picture’ and fresh ideas to illustrate running stories.

Our content editor will be an expert in knowing what interests audiences across the whole of Northern Ireland and will play a major role in the planning operation as well as delivering on the day coverage.

On occasion they may be required to travel to our studios in Belfast to produce our flagship programme, UTV Live. They may also line manage direct reports and be asked to do out-of-hours duties. Collaborating with colleagues to deliver our digital ambitions is also essential, as is a full understanding of media law, regulatory compliance and health and safety guidelines.

This is a job for someone who is proactive and wants to make their mark, leading a dedicated team to ensure we are serving audiences everywhere.
