Consultant Engineer

 

Description:

Sweco UK is looking for an experienced Consultant Engineer with expertise in ICT, Audio Visual, Telecom, and Electronic Security systems to join its Specialist Team in Maidenhead or London. This role will support Sweco's Building Services Business Unit, contributing to digital infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop ICT, AV, and electronic security systems for various projects.
  • Produce technical deliverables, including design documents, reports, and graphical presentations.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, concept designs, and detailed technical designs.
  • Participate in technical reviews and customer-facing meetings.
  • Develop schematic layouts, materials specifications, and workmanship guidelines.
  • Review and assess specialist trade contractor proposals.
  • Conduct site surveys, snagging, system witness testing, and commissioning management.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Qualifications in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
  • Technical membership of a professional body (desirable).
  • Experience in technical report writing, feasibility studies, and specifications.
  • Ability to take ownership of deliverables, both technically and commercially.
  • Strong collaborative and teamwork skills to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office, BIM, Revit, and CAD.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills with a good command of English (client-facing role).
