Community Safety Officer

 

Description:

The University of Warwick is looking for an outstanding Community Safety Officer to be the 'face of Warwick' and ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, business partners, and visitors across its 750-acre campus. The role involves various duties, from monitoring CCTV cameras and patrolling campus to managing major events, escorting VIP visitors, and investigating crimes on campus. This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor CCTV cameras and patrol campus.
  • Respond to fire alarms and other emergencies.
  • Manage major events and escort VIP visitors.
  • Investigate crime and ensure campus safety.
  • Support the overall safety operations of the university.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS with Child’s Barred List check (required).
  • Full UK or EU equivalent driving licence for at least 1 year, with no serious driving convictions.
  • Comfortable with 12-hour shifts (4 days, 4 nights on a rotating schedule).
  • Previous experience in security or community safety is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
