Your role will entail supporting and planning internal communications messaging across functions and to all colleagues in the UK&I cluster and supporting the management of external communications to the trade press using PR, advertising, digital and social media channels.
Please note: We offer hybrid working with two days per week in our Bristol office and three days per week working from home.
Principle Accountabilities
- Working with an external PR/ trade media agency and the Senior Communications Manager to deliver regular, effective communications to all press titles in the UK market
- Managing trade press is a crucial channel for Imperial Brands to be able to increase our share of voice and promote our brands to retailers and wholesalers in the UK market
- Create briefings in press releases, feature submissions, article generation, and responses to journalist queries
- Manage both PR and creative marketing agencies you will work with design agencies to book and place timely trade press advertising (print & digital)
- Assist the Senior Communications Manager and other functions with delivery of Imperial Brands UK’s internal comms agenda
- Maintain the IMB UK internal comms and support internal teams (e.g. I&I, Sales, GBS, P&C, Trade and Consumer Marketing, Finance, IT teams plus broader Cluster colleagues on any ad hoc communications initiatives
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience within a similar role within an FMCG or regulated industry business
- Experienced in creating and/ or briefing in press releases, feature submissions, article generation, and responses to journalist queries; whilst being proficient in PR channels and tactics
- Experience of managing both PR and creative marketing agencies
- Confident in using email platforms, SharePoint, website CMS and other digital and internal social media channels. Knowledge of the Poppulo, Viva Engage, Canva or Adobe Photoshop or InDesign would be desirable.
- Experience in the creative process for originating effective advertising messages, analysing effective key messages and visuals when briefing or reviewing adverts
- Able to work in a fast paced environment, with excellent multi-tasking skills
