Amey is offering an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our Complex Facilities Team on a full-time, permanent basis for a 12-month period. Based in Barnsley, this role provides hybrid working options and the chance to implement commercial best practices, maximizing value and minimizing risk for the business.

Responsibilities:
- Implement commercial processes to ensure contractual entitlements are realized.
- Develop cost structures for accurate cost capture and reporting.
- Manage subcontractor accounts as per agreed documentation.
- Play a key role in the Management Team, reporting to divisional leadership.
- Ensure strict adherence to contract and company deadlines.
- Prepare commercial reports, including cost-value reconciliations and cash flow forecasts.
- Oversee weekly/monthly cost and value reconciliations and advise senior management.
- Manage subcontract procurement and payments.
- Support tender processes and strategy as required.
- Provide commercial and financial insights to support functions and other contracts.
- Ensure timely submission of Change Requests, pricing adjustments, and contract modifications.
- Offer commercial and contractual guidance to the Account Manager and team.
Requirements:
- Degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent) or significant experience in a senior commercial role.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet strict deadlines.
- Analytical and methodical approach to work.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to develop and mentor junior team members.
- Solid understanding of contractual agreements and legal principles.
- Experience in cost management, procurement, and project finance.
