Commercial Manager

 

Description:

An excellent opportunity to work for a major high-profile organisation in the renewable energy field, who is at an early stage of major planned growth. They require the services of a Commercial Manager to work on a major hydro power scheme.

 

You will be the lead on key commercial and procurement areas, establishing working relationships with the client’s business and supply chain. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will support with pre and post contract management of the client’s supply chain. You will be the main point of contact to manage commercial processes and ensure adherence the client’s corporate governance for commercial activities.

 

This is a hybrid working role based in London.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

· Issue packages of work to the supply chain under an NEC4 contract, ensuring scope is sufficiently detailed, risks understood, assessed, and timelines are documented.

· Lead commercial, cost and project reviews for contracts and suppliers. Update cost and commercial reporting for incurred and forecast costs against budgets, with variance analysis.

· Conduct regular commercial reviews of both internal and external supplier costs.

· Manage a team of quantity surveyors.

· Manage change control, risks, budgets through quantity surveying team.

· Lead and manage final account settlements of all projects. Including, pro-actively managing commercial disputes and claims.

 

Experience required.

 

· Proven experience in a commercial management role on major UK projects including expertise of having worked for a tier 1 or tier 2 contractor.

· Demonstrable experience in leading and managing commercial teams from within sectors such as renewable energy, oil & gas or major infrastructure.

· Strong experience of change management and resolution of contract disputes

· Expertise of implementation and maintenance of contract administration processes and reporting systems that align to programme/ project management teams.

· Experience of working on construction projects under the NEC suite of contracts.

· Membership of the RICS or similar recognised body.
