Commercial Manager

 

Description:

We are seeking a motivated Commercial Manager to join our team. The Commercial Manager shall lead and administer the prime contract on assigned projects and advise project and senior line/functional management on ways to manage, mitigate and improve on commercial risks/opportunities for COWI. The relevant candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives, building key client relationships, and ensuring the smooth operation of our commercial activities.
Furthermore, you will be:
 

  • Leading the commercial delivery of projects and joint ventures from start to finish with minimal supervision.
  • Implementing the best practices of commercial and contract management solutions across your project or joint venture, including commercial risk management
  • Advising on the development and assurance of commercial and procurement strategies and the associated parts of the business case to assist clients procure better solutions
  • Ensuring work and projects are running on time and to budget
  • Providing constructive challenge with specialist sector knowledge (energy and complex structures – tunnels and bridges) to improve our clients' delivery
  • Supporting business development and providing effective engagement with the market.
  • Advising on the resolution of commercial and contract issues across projects and JV’s by engaging with the PM community on a regular basis

On top of that, you’ll:
 

  • Have a degree within a construction or energy sector-related discipline
  • Be chartered with MRICS, MCArb or MCICES with post-chartered experience
  • Have private and public sector commercial and procurement experience, ideally within a consultancy environment
  • Be comfortable working client side, as a part of an owner’s engineer and as part of a JV for a contractor
  • Be client focused and enthusiastic about establishing close relationships with clients, resolving issues and exceeding client expectations
  • Demonstrate experience of working through a full project delivery cycle (from proposal to project close out)
  • Be able to undertake client-facing presentations/negotiations with senior corporate leadership
  • Display significant leadership skills and have the ability to work within multi-disciplinary project teams
