Description:
You can develop complex ‘in-vitro’ CNS disease models to discover gene therapies. You have utilised both primary cells and iPSCs.
Why have you dedicated your career to this preclinical research? Was it to find unique solutions to difficult problems for patients suffering from real unmet need?
We are working with a Cambridge-based start-up (which has announced a large financial raise & partnerships with big pharma) developing polymer nanoparticles for gene therapy drug delivery. They are looking for a Senior Scientist to lead lab-based CNS translational research. Their nanoparticles have a proven capability to cross biological barriers (such as the blood brain barrier) and release genetic payloads on target. Their proprietary technology has the potential to revolutionise gene therapy for CNS patients.
You will develop their CNS models, and undertake genetic drug efficacy, potency, and immunogenicity assays. Your work will be vital to the development of next-generation drugs and very visible to senior leadership.
