Description:
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow/Dundee, is currently looking to recruit an Infrastructure/Cloud Architect for an initial 4 month contract on a rate of up to £706/day (Outside IR35). This role will be hybrid working with 1-2 days per week in the office.
Responsibilities
- Design effective cloud first solutions and networks that support cutting-edge service design, including but not limited to AWS Workspaces, AppStream 2.0, AWS Glue and Athena.
- Demonstrate your ability to influence and work collaboratively across a broad matrix of specialists and experts.
- Articulately present designs and solutions at the highest level and in a compelling manner.
- Work closely with security colleagues to define highly available, resilient, scalable and fault tolerant end-to-end solution architecture.
- Working closely with Customer Portal Front and Back end design including AWS Services such as X-Ray, AWS Glue, Lambda and Step Functions.
- Network and collaborate externally with likeminded professionals as a representative of the organisation.
- Utilise public cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure to hosts and enable line of business applications and services.
Essential Skills
- An accomplished infrastructure architecture professional; cloud architect certification preferred or demonstrable equivalent experience of designing large, robust, and complex architecture in cloud or traditional data centres.
- An understanding of cloud platform services (ideally AWS) including identity security, high-availability and cloud networking. With working knowledge of key AWS Services including Glue, Athena, X-Ray and Cognito.
- Experience working under security-related frameworks and best practice. Demonstrable design knowledge should include (but not limited to) cloud enabled security capabilities in some of the following areas: Identity and Access, Privileged Access Management, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code tooling, AWS Workspaces and AppStream 2.0, Security Monitoring, Audit and Response, DevOps Orchestration Security Controls.
- Experience of Linux/Unix/Windows system administration skills good understanding of infrastructure, network (including F5 Silverline), and application security including understanding of OWASP objectives and requirements, configuration of firewalls, load balancers and other network equipment.
