Description:
GMSL, a market leader in 24/7 energy portfolio management services and software, is seeking a Cloud Engineer to develop and maintain secure and highly available AWS infrastructure for cloud-based products. The role involves designing, provisioning, and automating cloud infrastructure, working closely with developers and product teams to deploy scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cloud Infrastructure & Security:
- Maintain and improve architectural patterns for cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure availability, reliability, and security of cloud systems.
- Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions.
2. Development & Automation:
- Use infrastructure as code (Terraform) to automate cloud provisioning.
- Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, CodeBuild).
- Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues and optimize performance.
3. Collaboration & Support:
- Work alongside product owners, developers, and testers to deploy new features.
- Provide on-call support when required.
- Share knowledge with the team through documentation and coaching.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years as a cloud engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of cloud services (AWS preferred, but experience with any cloud provider is acceptable).
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code and automation scripting.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and identify root causes effectively.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical collaboration.
- Comfortable providing on-call support.

- Networking & DNS: VPC, subnets, security groups.
- Cloud Services & APIs: S3, SQS, Cognito.
- Serverless & Containerization: Lambda, ECR, Docker.
- Database Management: PostgreSQL, DynamoDB.
- Monitoring & Alarms: CloudWatch, AWS Health Dashboard.
- Identity & Access Management: IAM, STS.
- Scripting & Automation: Bash, JavaScript, Python.
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform.
- CI/CD Pipelines: GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, CodeBuild.
Work Schedule & Location:
- Permanent role, 37.5 hours/week (Mon-Fri).
- Hybrid work model (2-3 days per week in the Cambridge office).
