We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Climate Change Manager to play a meaningful role contributing towards Arm’s carbon reduction commitments. The role includes leading various reduction workstreams, as well as data management and specialist input for climate change reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate will have the skills, determination, and knowledge to lead across functions and deliver positive change. They will also love getting stuck into carbon accounting!

We are focusing on decarbonising our own footprint as a first step into decarbonising compute. To this end, Arm has set the following carbon commitments
 

  • To achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2030, focusing on absolute emissions reduction.
  • To meet and maintain our RE100 commitment; and switch electricity consumption to 100% renewable from 2023 onwards.
     

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Sustainability team. The role will work with the Director of Climate Impact and be responsible for leading workstreams to deliver specific targets, for the collection, management, and reporting of carbon data; and for delivering employee engagement initiatives.

Arm’s specialist sustainability team is collaborative and agile, and this role will also be an integral part of the team and contribute to joint team outputs, thinking and insights.

Responsibilities
 

  • Leading specific carbon reduction workstreams and working cross-functionally
  • Data collection and carbon accounting for all scopes of our footprint (to GHG Protocol)
  • Running our carbon data platform, including co-ordination of data owners
  • Providing carbon and environmental data and specialist content for internal and external reporting including SECR, CDP, and TCFD as well as any incoming ESG reporting
  • Leading environmental engagement initiatives; including environmental ambassadors’ network and app, and supporting low carbon decision making
  • Handling contracts with external suppliers
     

Required Skills And Experience

Education & Qualifications
 

  • Relevant university degree (or equivalent qualification) or significant experience
  • Proven experience in an environmental sustainability role
  • Demonstrated ability leading workstreams
  • Experience/strong understanding of carbon emissions calculations across all scopes
  • Proficient numerical and analytics skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Problem solver
  • Experience working in a corporate role
  • Broad understanding of climate change issues and ability to translate the theory into practice in a business context
  • Interpersonal
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to focus on the detail or the key decision points for different audiences
  • Experience working with and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Capable of working independently with limited supervision, or as part of a team
  • Confident and capable to collaborate and negotiate across functions, and to take the lead to get things done
