Cleanroom Facilities Engineer

Description:

The Else Kooi Laboratory (EKL) at TU Delft is one of two cleanrooms at the university that plays an essential role in the strategic goals of the TU Delft to excel in education, research and innovation in the fields of micro-, nano-, and quantum technology. As a member of our highly skilled team, you will be responsible for maintaining our cleanroom facilities and systems. These systems include HVAC, process chillers, boilers, steam generator, DI water, and compressed gas systems. As we are expanding and preparing our facilities for the future this is an exciting time to join us!

Together with your team members you will plan, organize and execute the work of the EKL Facilities team, of the TU Delft Campus Real Estate personnel and of the (sub)contactors. To ensure no vital research work is interrupted, you will also consult with EKL’s users: our academic audiences and innovative businesses. Yours is a multi-faceted role, combining project management and hands-on involvement. This includes daily inspections and repairs, risk management, monitoring our building management system, troubleshooting, and installation of new tools and custom setups. As our facilities must remain operational 24/7, you will also take on your share of on-call shifts for out-of-office-hours emergencies.

Your homebase is our supportive and driven team of Equipment & Facility at EKL. As we are growing rapidly, so is our need for professional documentation. This is why you will be involved in upgrading the cleanroom Standard Operation Procedure and help implement and improve HSE policies, protocols and procedures. You will also join our emergency response team (BHV) for which you’ll undergo accredited training. At EKL we work to deadlines and in facilities that require the utmost precision and risk-consciousness. Still, you will find an open, relaxed and fun atmosphere and we’ll give you all the support and training you need to develop your full potential!
