Amey is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer to join their Consulting Highways team. The role involves designing and delivering highway projects from inception to construction, working closely with developers, clients, and the design team. Projects range from junction improvements to new roads and bridges. The position is based in Stafford with the flexibility to work remotely. Key Responsibilities:
- Produce highway drawings packages, including materials, construction details, calculations, and documents.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, Road Safety Audit briefs, and other written documents.
- Work up Traffic Regulation Orders.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and supervision of works.
- Lead and attend meetings with developers, clients, and other designers.
- Provide support and updates to the Senior Engineer.
- Ensure compliance with relevant technical standards and guidance.
What You Will Bring To Us:
- A Degree/Master’s qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in highway engineering, including local roads and S278 layouts.
- Ability to work autonomously and check the work of others.
- Sound knowledge of Manual for Streets, DMRB, and other industry standards.
- Understanding of CDM regulations and their relevance to highway design.
- Confidence in preparing fee quotes and delivering projects on time and within budget.
