Description:
Gallagher Re has a new opportunity for a Chief Operations Officer to successfully support the CEO of International in the execution of the International business strategy. The role will lead the operations of the International broking division, ensuring the delivery of the agreed strategic and operational business plans in a way that appropriately meets the needs of the CEO, clients, Gallagher Leaders and shareholders of the Gallagher Group.
Responsibilities
- To execute the business strategy of the International Division supporting the CEO to deliver the business goals of the division
- Ensure the sustainability, resilience and compliance of the entire International platform in all territories
- To develop and deliver the operational strategy and plans for International; ensure all geographies and product/practice lines are aligned and support the global operational strategy along with the delivery of International business goals
- To work with the Gallagher Re Global COO to ensure that the International Division is appropriately represented on all Global Operational forums and that International supports the development and implementation of all Global Operational initiatives
- Ensure that Gallagher Re is correctly aligned to and fully supported by all Gallagher Group Functions in all territories
- Management of annual budget for International to ensure successful and sustainable execution of the strategies and plans; monitoring business performance against plans and reporting on performance, any issues and solutions to the International CEO
- Responsible for the implementation and effective embedding of all policies, standard operating procedures, operational resilience arrangements and training to which individuals involved in performing activities relating to International in each jurisdiction in which it operates are subject to and in compliance with Gallagher Re and Gallagher governance arrangements, policies and procedures
- Provide leadership and oversight to the International operations executive and regional senior leadership teams, ensuring that they align to the vision, values and culture of the Gallagher Group
- Oversee, coach, support and direct the International Operations Leadership Team to ensure they lead and direct the operations of their assigned businesses, ensuring all matters that relate to them are dealt in an efficient and cost effective manner, in line with the requirements of Gallagher Re and the Gallagher Group
- Ensure that all regulatory requirements in each jurisdiction that Gallagher Re operates in across International are met (at a minimum) or exceeded
- Responsible for the timely production of accurate management information (“MI”) to support the monitoring of client outcomes, business performance and process effectiveness

Qualifications
Experience and Skills
- A proven track record of successful leadership and knowledge of insurance / reinsurance related operations within a global business in a regulated environment(s)
- Cultural awareness and the ability to successfully influence and engage colleagues and leaders in a multi-cultural and multi geographical business
- Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking and value add at executive committee
- Previous successful P&L management along with strong analytical and commercial thinking
- Ability to Innovate and provide next generation thinking for the issues facing the business today
- Effective use of judgement and consideration in problem solving and decision making
- Strong leadership with the ability to engage and motivate colleagues both across geographies and at all levels of the organisation
- Proven people management skills
