I am currently recruiting for a Chief Financial Officer for my key client in the Charitable sector, the role will take responsibility for ensuring effective and transparent financial governance of the organisation and maintaining the financial viability of the charity.
This is a permanent position based in Staffordshire, salary and package will be discussed individually based on candidate situation and experience.
Overview Of The Chief Financial Officer Role
- Lead and develop financial processes across the organisation to ensure the smooth running of all of our finance functions
- Responsible for the strategic elements of the financial planning across the organisation
- Guarantee the adherence to SORP accounting standards
- Asses existing and introduce new funding streams to the charity
- Ensure effective flow of information across all parts of the organisation, particularly to our SMT, Finance and Administration Sub-Committee, Board, and Auditors - including producing management accounts, cash flow financial forecasting, and leading on our Annual Audit
- Ensure compliance with internal and external finance and income regulations such as those set by Charity Commission, Fundraising Regulator, HMRC, and our own finance regulations
- Lead on both short and long term financial planning, including managing budget setting and reforecasting for the organisation, working with colleagues to ensure we generate surplus each year by identifying trends or risks which might impact budget decisions
- Act as link between income and finance teams to ensure projects Full Cost Recovery are accurately calculated, funding gaps are identified, and project initiation and management are supported, including translating funding budgets into internal systems, and supporting with monitoring returns
- Management of the finance team including all required training, development and skillset division
- Responsible for month and year end as well as oversight of the full Audit process working with external auditors
Requirements Of The Chief Financial Officer Role
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA qualified
- Experience of a comparable role or at Director level taking a step up
- Previous work experience in the Charity/Not-For-Profit, Housing, Education or Public Sector
