Chief Executive Officer

Description:

The CEO will oversee the overall direction of the organisation. They will be responsible for developing and

implementing strategies and policies to ensure that the organisation meets the goals determined by the

Board of Directors. The CEO will monitor the organisation’s performance indicators and any budgetary and

financial activities and will appoint staff or subcontractors as necessary. The CEO will identify enhanced

working practices and cost-cutting measures that will improve operations and performance. The CEO will

be up to date with relevant knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational

opportunities, reading professional publications, and engaging and maintaining professional networks.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Lead operational management in alignment with the board's goals and values.
• Develop short and long-term strategies to enhance membership experience and SST affiliation.
• Ensure a quality organisational culture, focusing on well-trained and engaged employees.
• Maintain and establish partnerships for industry recognition and career pathways.
• Evaluate economic threats and opportunities, ensuring fiscal sustainability and expansion.
• Directly manage the Head of Education in overseeing educational competencies and partnerships.
• Manage the administrative team, ensuring optimal day-to-day operations, including membership

renewals, health, safety, security, diversity, equity, and inclusivity.

• Collaborate with the external comms provider for effective PR, communications, and marketing

strategy.

• Oversee financial performance, regulatory compliance, and annual budget preparation.
• Coordinate & Task Teams & with volunteers supporting the organisation's initiatives.
• Lead business operations in line with the organisation's vision, mission, and values.
• Communicate with the Board, members, media, and stakeholders, representing the organisation.
• Attend functions, public meetings, and industry events, engaging in lobbying and networking.
