Chief Executive Officer

Description:

Cricket Wales is looking to identify and appoint an exceptional Chief Executive to lead our organisation. Cricket Wales is one of 39 Cricket Boards that make up the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and is recognised by Sport Wales and Welsh Government as the National Governing Body for cricket in Wales.

Our vision is simple; it is for ‘Cricket to Capture the imagination of Wales’ and our goal is to deliver our ‘Inspiring Generations’ strategy* in partnership with our colleagues and friends at Glamorgan Cricket, and our primary funders, the ECB, Sport Wales, Chance to Shine and the Lord's Taverners.

We exist ‘to lead, inspire and influence the growth, quality, and accessibility of cricket in Wales’.

We are made up of many different cricket organisations from across the length and breadth of Wales, all sharing a passion for cricket. Our mission is focused on supporting the objectives of not only Cricket Wales and Glamorgan, but also the ambitions of both ECB and the Welsh Government by ‘connecting communities and improving well-being by inspiring people to discover their passion for cricket.’

Over 250 clubs, leagues and associations involving almost 25,000 people make up Cricket Wales. These include Cricket Clubs & Communities; Senior Leagues; Junior Leagues; Cricket Grounds Managers’ Associations (CGA’s); Wales Association of Cricket Officials; Wales National County and ECB Coaches Association.

Our new Chief Executive will be a visible leader capable of managing and further motivating a small and geographically dispersed team to continue to deliver outstanding performance in growing participation in cricket. You will understand the power of sport to positively change lives and will be capable of actively promoting the work we do so as to enhance the profile of Cricket Wales. You will be effective at engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders both at the highest levels of Government and our funding partners, and with all our participants and volunteers from across our sport. Central to success in the role will be an ability to be creative in revenue generation and delivering future income growth. But, above all, you will provide leadership and commitment, to promote and deliver the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in everything we do and as a cornerstone of our organisation.

This is a truly rare opportunity to join an organisation with a rich and proud history and an equally exciting future. You will be working with a motivated and talented team led by a genuinely committed and dynamic Board of Directors to help us deliver our strategy that will lead our organisation into its next period of success both on and off the field.
