We are looking for a trustee to join our board to Chair our Audit and Risk Committee. With our five-year strategy underway, this is an exciting time to join us as we forge new, influential partnerships and strategies to achieve our aims and help as many people as we can with diabetes.

As the Chair of Audit and Risk Committee you will support effective oversight of the financial matters of the Charity in line with good practice and governance, and the Charity’s legal responsibilities, ensuring that their money is safe, properly used and accounted for.

You will report to the board on the matters reviewed by, and on any decisions or recommendations of, the Audit and Risk Committee. You will ensure all categories of risk are adequately identified, reported, and managed and continuously evaluate the suitability of, and level of compliance with, financial and non-financial controls. This includes assessing whether procedures are effective and efficient, and checking whether agreed controls and procedures have been followed.

You will have knowledge and understanding of current financial practice relevant to charities and experience within financial planning and risk management. We are seeking an accounting qualification and prior charity board or equivalent experience for this key role.
