William James Recruitment, acting on behalf of a respected and well-established law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Executive to join their growing Employer’s Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) department. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled legal professional to manage a diverse caseload, providing high-quality legal services to valued insurance clients.

In this role, you will handle both fast-track and multi-track cases up to the value of £100,000, with a focus on cases involving personal injury claims arising from employer and public liability incidents.

This position requires not only technical legal expertise but also strong analytical and case management skills, as cases are typically handled on a non-delegated authority basis — providing you with a high level of responsibility and autonomy.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Independently manage your own caseload of litigated EL and PL cases, providing expert advice on liability and quantum.
✅ Draft and review witness statements, review complex disclosure documents, and instruct counsel.
✅ Attend conferences and trials as necessary.
✅ Assess quantum and negotiate settlement offers.
✅ Apply analytical thinking to liability disputes and assess the strength of evidence and documentation.
✅ Ensure adherence to SRA Standards & Regulations at all times.
✅ Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, team members, and external counsel.

Candidate Requirements:

🔹 Proven experience managing an EL/PL litigated caseload, preferably within a specialist law firm or insurance practice.
🔹 Strong legal knowledge in personal injury litigation and an excellent understanding of case law and practice.
🔹 Highly organized with the ability to manage deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
🔹 Strong leadership and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
🔹 Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
🔹 Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
🔹 Knowledge of SRA Standards & Regulations and an ability to apply regulatory understanding to practical casework.
