Description:
A leading innovator in radar, security, and surveillance systems is seeking a commercially experienced C++ Software Engineer to join their development team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong technical background and a keen understanding of mathematics and object-oriented design, looking to work on cutting-edge defence technologies.
You’ll be involved in the design and development of software across the company’s radar systems, including external radar control systems and interfaces, while enhancing the software capabilities and overall user experience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an advanced technical environment, appreciates working on mission-critical systems, and enjoys collaborating with end-users.
Design and develop advanced C++ software for radar control and surveillance systems.
Collaborate with end-users to gather requirements and deliver intuitive solutions.
Develop and enhance command and control software for defence/security purposes.
Manipulate and work with GIS (Geographic Information System) data.
Contribute to UI/UX improvements and system performance optimizations.
Maintain and improve existing codebases, ensuring quality and scalability.
Degree in a technical subject with a strong software focus.
Solid understanding of object-oriented software design principles.
Proven C++ development skills in a commercial environment.
Experience working directly with end-users to define and refine requirements.
Command and control software development for defence/security systems.
Handling and processing GIS data.
Experience with real-time and embedded software systems.
Python or other scripting language experience.
Familiarity with SQL databases.
Exposure to machine learning techniques.
Competitive salary up to £60,000 annually (approx. £5000 monthly), depending on experience.
