Principal Responsibilities

Strategy

• Supports the Head of Corporate Relations, helping to drive forward new business activity
• Supports the delivery of long-term growth strategies of corporate membership at all levels
• Works with colleagues across the fundraising and partnerships department to develop, implement and evolve business development strategies, to support the strategic fundraising goals of the organisation
• Builds contacts and gathers intelligence aimed at informing the Institute’s understanding of the corporate sector, funding environment and the opportunities for engagement

Delivery

• Lead business development and new business activity for corporate membership at all levels.
• Deliver the activity in the business development schedule and manages the business development pipeline.
• Responds to incoming enquiries from corporate prospects received by phone, email, via the Chatham House website or in person.
• Leads new business outreach, with support from the corporate relations assistant
• Takes new business meetings, either in-person or virtual and is comfortable representing the Institute in these meetings with senior stakeholders
• Work with the Head of Corporate Relations to identify and develop a pipeline of companies with which Chatham House could develop six-figure partnerships. These partnerships could include sponsorship for our flagship conferences, core support of our research programmes or income to support specific research projects.
• Supports research colleagues on corporate fundraising.
• When needed, constructs meeting briefing notes for prospective corporate funders for the Director of Chatham House, by researching and summarising company activities and any potential synergies with Chatham House
• Ensures that all account records on the CRM are up-to-date and to be responsible for their updating and accuracy
• Develop a working knowledge of GDPR and ensure that all data processing follows the highest standards of compliance.
