This is a fantastic opportunity for a collaborative, self-starting and driven Business Development professional to join a large global law firm, to support and advise the Entertainment and Media Industry Group. The successful applicant will be joining a dynamic international law firm dedicated to helping clients move their businesses forward. The group is market-leading, being ranked in the top tiers of the legal directories, and enjoys an enviable reputation. This role comprises the standard elements of a law firm Marketing & BD role, but it is also a unique for a law firm since the Entertainment and Media Industry Group team leads the way as one of the most progressive groups in the firm. The team hold annual major industry parties across the globe and work with external PR providers in all major markets who work 24/7 generating PR in the major outlets. You will be a key contact point for Entertainment and Media lawyers across the firm and will work closely with the industry leaders, partners and associates to drive and execute the marketing and business development priorities for the group. The Business Development Manager will provide strategic and tactical business development and marketing support and will be required to manage stakeholders and deliver collateral, data and advice across the firm’s global footprint. You will drive plans for key target clients, regularly monitoring progress in building the client relationship, and will be responsible for creating regular client-relationship reports for up to a dozen existing key clients to generate profitable revenue growth. Advising lead partners on new pitch and proposal opportunities for clients, always ensuring the delivery of a first-class working document, will be a key responsibility. On the marketing side the role holder wills will also be heavily involved in profile raising and events, brand positioning, marketing collateral and communications and submissions for major awards and legal directories. Resourceful, proactive and creative with outstanding drafting skills, the ideal candidate will be a bright graduate or equivalent with a proven track record in business development gained whilst working in a law firm or professional services organisation, ideally coupled with experience in the entertainment and media industry. Extremely detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills and willingness to approach partners and lawyers with new concepts and ideas, the Business Development Manager will have a genuine interest in media and entertainment and a desire to stay current on industry developments and trends and will be able to demonstrate past success in using social media to drive business and build a profile.
