Based in either Bristol or Manchester, this is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic applicant to join an award-winning and client-centric law firm as a Business Development Manager. The successful candidate will enjoy highly flexible hybrid working arrangements and a broad and varied role, providing strategic guidance and hands-on BD and marketing support to the firm’s Real Estate business group and sector; and Leisure, Food and Drink sector. You will be responsible for developing client relationships, winning new business and raising the firm’s profile. Becoming a trusted advisor to partners and other stakeholders on all aspects of business development, you will work collaboratively with Marketing & Business Development colleagues, key stakeholders and other business teams to drive the sectors, service line and firm forward, and in doing so effectively support the firm’s ambitious growth plans. Managing annual BD budgets and providing BD and sales activity reports, you will manage a sales pipeline, running sales campaigns to create new business opportunities and developing compelling market propositions and solutions. The Business Development Manager will need to progress and support the conversion of opportunities, including the creation of persuasive proposal, bid and pitch presentations. Tasked with the design and implementation of BD and client plans, you will be expected to develop your own network of intermediaries, targets and client contacts and use these to support both lead generation and relationship building activity. Building relationships with priority clients will be a key area of focus and you will also support Client Relationships Partners in managing client panels and frameworks. On the marketing side, the role holder will work with the Marketing & Communications team to develop thought leadership campaigns positioning the firm as sector experts and support the promotion of their sectors through the firm's website, social media channels, email marketing, PR and internal comms. You will also oversee legal directory submissions and relevant award entries and develop an in-person and virtual events programme, to engage clients and prospects. This role would suit a very bright graduate or equivalent with a proven track record working in business development and marketing ideally gained within another law firm. Highly-organised and commercially-minded, the Business Development Manager will be a determined and self-motivated individual with outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills and will be able to communicate and present clearly, concisely and credibly.
