Launched in March 2022, we’ve already added over 500,000 products from third party sellers to B&Q’s diy.com ecommerce channel and app, nearly tripled the products available, and rocket boosted our sales. Key responsibilities

As a Business Development Executive for the B&Q Marketplace, you will play a vital role in expanding our merchant network by acquiring high-quality merchants who align with our values and meet our standards. Your responsibilities will involve handling inbound leads, identifying the most promising prospects, and guiding them through the contracting process.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Contracting 40 Merchants a month against set Tier targets
  • Ensuring all merchants pass our due diligence process.
  • Maintaining all relevant information in Salesforce

Inbound Lead Management:

  • Handle incoming inquiries and leads from various sources, including online platforms, referrals, and marketing campaigns
  • Qualify leads to determine their suitability and potential as merchant partners.

Merchant Acquisition:

  • Develop and execute a strategy to acquire 40 new merchants per month, focusing on quality.
  • Build relationships with potential merchants and clearly communicate our value proposition and terms and conditions.

Due Diligence:

  • Conduct thorough due diligence on potential merchants to ensure they meet our quality standards and align with our brand.
  • Verify merchant documentation and credentials, including legal and financial requirements.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed records of interactions, leads, and acquisitions.
  • Prepare regular reports on acquisition progress and performance metrics.
  • Guide selected merchants through the contract process, ensuring they fully understand our terms and conditions.
