Business Continuity Specialist

Reporting to the Assurance and Risk Manager this role is responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of the Business Continuity Management System across SPR (onshore).

The post holder will be responsible and accountable for: -

  • Developing, planning and delivering the Business Continuity strategy across offices, windfarms and other sites used by SPR, including the Renewables Control Centre (RCC)
  • Providing governance around the local BCMS arrangements throughout SPR
  • Assessing, managing and escalating risk, with a view to determining and documenting relevant mitigation and management measures
  • Responding, managing and recovering business critical activities following a BC incident (i.e. fire, protests, national emergency etc) in conjunction with other relevant teams across SPR/ScottishPower
  • Representing ScottishPower at Government and Industry resilience groups
  • Supporting wider activities of the Assurance & Risk team as required, including tasks relating to quality management and document control.

What you’ll be doing

You will support the maintenance of Business Continuity Management systems with an objective to achieve ISO 22301 accreditation and develop, maintain, and continually improve the business continuity management system across ScottishPower Renewables.

We will look to you to ensure all required BCMS activities are completed within the timescales of the annual operating plan and provide expert advice relating to all business continuity risk and compliance matters across ScottishPower Renewables. Externally, this will include supporting the procurements process for large contracts or responding to continuity related questions when ScottishPower tender for contracts.

In addition to this, you will report, monitor and maintain critical KPI measures to ensure our performance targets are delivered and contribute to the development, maintenance and delivery of all emergency planning, security needs and health & safety plans or initiative in line with the ScottishPower group.

What you’ll bring

To join, you must have a working knowledge of business continuity management and ISO 22301 with experience in risk management processes and policy formation. You will possess strong management skills with a proven ability to manage 3rd party suppliers, vendors, and agents to agreed commercial & contracted service levels with a track record for delivery of excellent internal and external customer service.
