Description:
Carriera Limited is seeking a Building Regulations Architect to join their team in Essex. This role is ideal for a technical professional passionate about compliance, building safety, and project management under the Building Safety Act 2022. The position offers the opportunity to develop as a Principal Designer, working across high-risk and non-high-risk buildings. The ideal candidate should have a technical background in architecture, architectural technology, or construction management and be knowledgeable about modern methods of construction and building regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend Design Team and Workshop meetings as per project scope.
- Prepare and produce Building Safety Act progress reports at the end of each RIBA Stage/Gateway submission.
- Ensure compliance of design work with all relevant safety requirements.
- Liaise with clients on their duties under the Building Safety Act (BSA).
- Ensure collaboration among all duty holders and stakeholders.
- Coordinate route-to-compliance strategies with the consultant team.
- Assist in notifying the regulator of duty holder appointments.
- Monitor and manage design risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee the Fire and Emergency File, ensuring proper handover to the Principal Contractor.
- Assess the competency of the design team and provide guidance on statutory processes.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in architecture, architectural technology, or construction management.
- Chartered or working towards professional accreditation.
- Knowledge of high-risk buildings and modern construction methods.
- Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act, building regulations, and statutory processes.
- Experience in technical delivery, compliance management, and risk assessment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to work with design and regulatory teams.
