Description:
The Breaks Team Leader role is to oversee and help deliver high quality, safe breaks for the children and young people visiting our centres daily. You will develop and manage the break leader team to inspire, enthuse and guide groups of children throughout the break, promoting lasting positive memories and learning in line with Go Beyond’s ambitions. The safety of children and welfare of children, staff and volunteers is paramount and you will operate within the policies and procedures of the charity. You will be keen to share your love of the outdoors and the special environments around our centres.
Responsibilities
- To supervise and ensure the delivery of high quality, relevant and safe breaks for the children and young people visiting our centres daily in line with Go Beyond policies and procedures, including our Theory of Change and Strategic Plan.
- Ensure the effective and timely induction and training of the breaks team staff members.
- Ensure that all breaks administrative, preparation and processing tasks are completed and to a high standard within the weekly deadlines. (e.g.: break reports, photographic compilations, first aid forms, medication forms)
- Attend regular team meetings, hold debriefs and discussions to aid the communication of staff including their daily / weekly tasks and responsibilities.
- Produce and publish a weekly rota for the breaks staff on a monthly basis and ensure the rota
- reflects any agreed changes and other variables that arise.
- Proactively manage the break days, aiding the set-up, running and take down of activities as appropriate to the needs of the group and staffing.
- Ensure best value and take responsibility for the activity costs each week.
- Ensure the induction, organisation and management of break volunteers in line with Go Beyond policies and procedures.
- Work in unison with the Breaks Development Manager to help plan, develop and deliver not only our own residential breaks, but also a range of centre-based programmes for our Option Weeks and other appropriate times.
- Ensure that all safeguarding concerns that arise are processed and communicated in line with the Go Beyond Safeguarding Policy.
- Participate in and complete any necessary training.
- Be a responsible role model and representative of Go Beyond, treating everyone with understanding, care and a positive enthusiasm for the work of our charity.
- Undertake, oversee or delegate other non-specific tasks/responsibilities deemed necessary to ensure the smooth, legal, and efficient running of the breaks.
