Board Member - Investment Focus

LPFA is seeking an exceptional individual to join its Board and Investment Committee, bringing strong expertise in finance, investment, audit, and risk to help guide the Fund’s continued success. As the largest Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) provider in London, with a Fund valued at approximately £8 billion as of March 2024, LPFA serves roughly 100,000 members and 115 contributing employers. The organization is committed to delivering high-quality, cost-effective pensions and is actively navigating a time of change within the LGPS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sit on the Investment Committee and oversee LPFA’s investment strategy, asset performance, and responsible investment approach.
• Bring expertise in institutional investment strategies, portfolio risk management, and asset allocation as they affect the pensions sector.
• Engage with fund managers or asset owners to ensure governance frameworks are adhered to.
• Align with LPFA's values and vision, supporting its commitment to being a high-quality, value-for-money organization with strong responsible investment beliefs.
• Demonstrate a commitment to climate change principles and responsible investment strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in investment and asset/liability management at a senior level.
• Strong knowledge of institutional investment strategies, portfolio risk management, and asset allocation within the pensions sector.
• Prior board or committee membership in the financial services sector is essential.
• Experience in overseeing investment governance frameworks and engaging with fund managers or asset owners would be advantageous.

Remuneration:

• £17,000 per annum for approximately two days per month.
