Description:

The University of Warwick invites applications for an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team responsible for ensuring high animal welfare standards for rodents and fish in compliance with the Animal Scientific Procedures Act (ASPA) 1986.

As a Biomedical Services Unit Technician, you will:
Supervise and manage wildtype breeding colonies
Ensure daily health and environmental checks in line with ASPA
Perform regular cleaning of animal housing areas
Carry out regulated procedures on protected animals (Full training provided)
Maintain accurate records in compliance with national legislation

🔹 Who We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate will possess:

A passion for animal welfare and ethical research
Knowledge of the Animal (Scientific Procedure) Act 1986 (preferred, but training will be provided)
A Personal Licence for Rodents and Zebrafish or a willingness to obtain one immediately upon starting
Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently
Attention to detail and cost-effective work habits
Excellent communication and record-keeping skills

Candidates must be educated to GCSE level or equivalent and be capable of following strict procedural guidelines in laboratory settings.
