Description:
We are looking for a web developer to take responsibility for the running and maintenance of our existing web systems, and develop new platforms to supplement or replace these systems. The ability to build user-friendly front ends to our data pipelines, and be responsive to user or science facility demand is our main requirement. Our web systems integrate tightly with our high throughput compute infrastructure and our data analysis pipelines, so experience in the use and administration of Linux systems would be highly desirable.
A suitably experienced individual will be given a high degree of autonomy in the gathering of requirements from users and the subsequent design and implementation of new systems. We have funding to allow for a full-time appointment, but for a suitable candidate we would consider this as a part time role if this is preferred. The role is based near Cambridge, but can be offered as a largely remote position for the right candidate.
This role will be supported by the existing members of both the bioinformatics group and the institute computing facility. Training will be provided in any relevant areas to assist the post holder in their work.
This is a limited term appointment with funding for this post expected to be available for a period of 3 years in the first instance.
A full job specification and role requirements can be found attached to this vacancy.
