Bank Oncology Pharmacist

 

Description:

Bupa Cromwell Hospital is seeking a Bank Oncology Pharmacist to provide a first-class clinical pharmacy service to the Oncology Department and Chemotherapy Day Unit. The role is crucial in ensuring medicines optimisation, safe and cost-effective drug use, and timely patient-centered services.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Provide a comprehensive, patient-focused clinical pharmacy service to oncology and chemotherapy patients.
✔ Act as a specialist oncology pharmacist, ensuring safe, clinically effective, and cost-efficient use of drugs.
✔ Manage the oncology electronic prescribing system and oversee the introduction of new oncology medicines.
✔ Communicate medicines management information to clinical teams, nurses, prescribers, carers, and patients.
✔ Participate in Oncology Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs) and ward rounds.

Candidate Requirements:

Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (essential)
Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) (essential)
Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (essential)
Strong knowledge of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) (essential)
Significant experience in UK aseptic services, oncology, and chemotherapy pharmacy (essential)
Broad clinical pharmacy experience, including ward-based work
✔ Experience in initiating, leading, and developing clinical services
✔ Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Quality Assurance (QA) standards
