Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a substantive Band 8a Team Manager for the CAMHS Crisis Service within Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.

The CAMHS Crisis team provides immediate support to children and young people experiencing mental health crises. This includes urgent assessments and home treatment interventions within the community.

The Team Manager will oversee operational and clinical delivery of the assessment and home treatment offer, ensuring seamless care for children and young people needing urgent mental health support.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational & Clinical Leadership: Provide visible, accessible, and authoritative leadership for the CAMHS Crisis team, including Assessment & Home Treatment, Urgent Assessment Hub, 24-hour phone support, and Crisis Plus liaison service.
  • Service Delivery: Ensure high-quality, clinically effective, and specialised care packages that reflect diverse individual needs.
  • Quality & Performance: Set, monitor, and evaluate care standards to maintain excellence in service delivery.
  • Expert Resource: Act as a highly specialised clinical expert within CAMHS.
  • Service Development: Influence and shape service delivery in collaboration with senior leadership and front-line staff.
  • Budget Management: Ensure effective management of allocated budgets.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teams across CAMHS services to provide integrated packages of care.
  • Urgent Response: Oversee provision of urgent assessments within Leicester Royal Infirmary in the emergency department and the children’s hospital.

About You:
✅ Significant leadership experience in CAMHS or mental health crisis services.
✅ Strong clinical background with specialist knowledge of CAMHS crisis interventions.
✅ Excellent understanding of urgent assessment and home treatment pathways for young people.
✅ Ability to lead change and develop innovative service solutions.
✅ Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
✅ Experience managing budgets and performance frameworks in NHS services.
✅ Commitment to delivering equitable and accessible services for diverse communities.
