Description:
This role is responsible for understanding the needs and vision of the International Commercial organization and ensuring new and existing technology platforms are properly deployed, enhanced, maintained, and supported to enable their critical business needs.
Identifying current business challenges and leveraging their experience to anticipate future ones, the role will work closely with DTE colleagues in the U.S. that own the platforms used by the International Commercial business teams (e.g., CRM, Marketing Technologies, Analytics, etc.) to ensure they meet the needs unique to the International operation.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Become a trusted partner of the Vertex International Commercial business, understand their needs and vision, and deliver technology solutions to support and enable their goals and objectives
- Engage as a key participant in the strategic business planning process for the International Commercial organizations. Provide insights on how technology can improve business processes to enable operating efficiencies and support business goals
- Help define and execute the technology strategy for International Commercial by representing the specific needs and point of view of the International organization and work with DTE colleagues in the U.S., to support the evaluation, selection, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of reliable and scalable technology solutions
- Present ideas and forward-looking plans to, and engage directly with, cross-functional leaders on a regular basis
- Deploy a multi-disciplinary approach to solving business challenges and unlocking new streams of business value through technology projects
- Lead full project lifecycle from intake through deployment, as well as communication, change management and team mobilization/ onboarding
- Establish, track and report on project/program value drivers and financial impact
- Proactively offer innovative technologies, solution ideas, and potential business process improvements in pursuit of driving efficiencies and meeting business needs
- Work closely with DTE Compliance, Information Security, Internal Audit and Quality Assurance groups as needed to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), GxP and Data Privacy (GDPR) regulations, as well as our DTE system lifecycle and change management requirements
Skills And Experience
- Significant experience in the Life Sciences industry, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Able to translate broad business strategies and functional priorities into effective operational goals and objectives; able to actively participate in strategic planning
- Extensive international work experience with significant exposure to the major European countries and an understating/sensitivity to their cultural norms and differences
- Demonstrated proficiency in the core disciplines of project management, business analysis, solution design, delivery, and testing
- Experienced in building productive partnerships with business stakeholders and aligning them around a recommendation/solution
- Results oriented manager and contributor with a proven track record of on-time project delivery for large, complex projects with global stakeholders
- Ability and willingness to flex as needed between leading/managing and hands-on execution in the roles of project manager, business analyst, and technical solution design and delivery
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to present complex or sensitive information in a clear and concise manner to various technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities including development of business case / value propositions
- Prior experience running IT managed services or outsourced/ offshore teams
- Strong experience in Agile methodology and working in Agile environments
- Strong understanding of key concepts related to Software Development Life Cycle, Information Security, and Digital Transformation
