Description:
We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join the team on our Kent County Council project based in West Malling, Kent.
The purpose of the role will be to manage and deliver Small Works and Life Cycle projects from conception to completion including income generation work at our TFM contract in Kent.
You’ll:
- Manage small works and Life Cycle Project work to comply with process and procedure within Our Way of Working: including design, estimating, arrange for the ordering of materials and plant, resource planning and implementation of direct labour or contract labour.
- Work with the Operations team to ensure all quotations are completed and returned within the Performance Management System time scales.
- Pre plan all works with relevant stakeholders and then liaise with all relevant parties including but not limited to Operations Managers, Estates Managers, clients, trade contractors and other third parties including departments to agree acceptable commencement date for the works. Ensuring access is available and the planned works do not compromise day to day operations and that works are delivered in an efficient and cost effective manner.
- Be responsible for in process inspections, adherence to CDM Regulations, delivering exemplary health and safety standards, checking the built works to ensure defect free handovers and management of any remedial works if required. Once all works are satisfactory completed sign off the works and review and authorise any subcontractor application for payment.
- Provide monthly reports to the Senior PM relating to Life Cycle and small works projects, in a format to be agreed with the Senior PM.
- Be responsible for the electronic management / storage of all lifecycle / small works projects documentation, including the upkeep of the tracking systems to ensure works are invoiced in a timely manner and ensure costs are recovered.
We’re looking for:
- Working to become technically qualified to minimum of HNC (Building/Mechanical).
- Working towards professional qualification in building related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience working to British Standards and current regulations.
- Must strive for H&S excellence and support IFE initiatives.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of several software packages including Microsoft Office suite consisting of, MS Project, Visio and experienced in use of MIS systems and Asset Data base systems
