WMG at the University of Warwick is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Modelling and Simulation of Polymer Composites. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing the understanding, prediction, and optimization of the mechanical behavior of polymer composites, particularly in high-volume applications like the automotive industry. The role involves:

  • Investigating how microstructure, processing history, and usage conditions affect the performance of polymer composites.
  • Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach that integrates experimental, theoretical, and computational methods to develop robust predictive tools for manufacturing processes and properties of discontinuous fibre composites.
  • Developing innovative research programs in materials and manufacturing.

This role offers an opportunity to lead a research agenda and interface with various research groups within WMG, as well as with collaborative industry partners.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An honours degree (2.1 or above) and a PhD in a relevant field.
  • Strong experience in initiating and managing research projects, including international collaborations.
  • A track record of publishing and presenting research to a wide audience.
  • An innovative approach to teaching and curriculum development.
  • Experience of interactions with industry is an advantage.
  • The capacity to develop and lead your own research group.
