Description:
The University of Portsmouth is seeking a talented Assistant IT Trainer to join their IT Training Team as part of the university’s M365 digital transformation initiative. This role is essential in supporting the smooth adoption and efficient use of core software, including Microsoft 365 applications, by university staff and students. The successful candidate will provide hands-on training and exceptional support to end users across the university, contributing to the university’s broader digital transformation goals.
This role offers hybrid working, though the successful candidate must be able to attend the campus in Portsmouth when required for training delivery. The contract will be for 12 months and is open to internal candidates through the Secondment Policy (with prior approval from line managers).
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and comprehensive IT training to staff and students, focusing on the adoption and effective use of Microsoft 365 tools.
Provide tailored support for end users, ensuring they can utilise software effectively in their roles.
Collaborate with other members of the IT Training Team to develop training materials and courses.
Stay updated with the latest developments in Microsoft 365 and other key software used by the university.
Support the wider business and digital transformation journey of the university.
Candidate Profile:
Strong passion for IT training and digital transformation.
Prior experience in IT training or a related role, ideally in a higher education or corporate setting.
Good understanding of Microsoft 365 applications and their use in professional environments.
Ability to adapt training approaches to meet the varied needs of learners.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
