An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an experienced finance professional into our Children’s Social Care and Health and Wellbeing Finance Team. Our team of accountants and finance officers work in partnership with budget holders to provide a high-quality finance support function and deliver our fundamental purpose of securing excellent financial stewardship and probity.
The Assistant Accountant role will provide comprehensive financial support and advice primarily, but not exclusively, to the Early Help and Partnerships service enabling budget holders to fulfil their financial management responsibilities. You will work closely with social work and finance professionals to ensure policies, processes and practices are compliant with financial regulations. Reporting to the Accountant you will provide line management to at least one other team member, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills required to provide a wide-ranging support function.
If you are an effective communicator with first class interpersonal skills, we want to hear from you. Excellent IT and analytical skills with a sound understanding of accounting principles are also essential, as is the ability to organise and prioritise often conflicting workloads to achieve results accurately and on time.
